CLASSES IN CERAMICS
Ceramic Sculpture 1 & 2 (10-week class) $180
Otamay Hushing
Fridays 12:30–2:30 pm, June 25–August 27
Designed for beginners through advanced students.
In this course several projects will be introduced including ceramic construction
design and techniques using slabs, extrusions and coils; glaze and underglaze application.
Students are encouraged to bring ideas they would like to try.
Advanced students may work at their own pace and on their projects
while receiving the technical and creative support of the Instructor.
Otamay has been working with clay since 1966.
She is a great resource and will inspire your creative side.
Tile Making (10-week class) $180

Enjoy this decorative, yet functional art form while exploring
a variety of tile-forming and surface-decorating techniques.
Finished tiles can be hung, grouted, or incorporated into other projects.
Suitable for beginners and experienced students.

Wheel: Utilitarian Form & Decoration (10-week class) $180

Bob will demonstrate, instruct, and assist students in mastering
a variety of utilitarian forms—then cover a variety of decorative techniques
used on wet, leather-hard, bone-dry greenware. Appropriate decorative glazing techniques will also be included.
This class is designed for intermediate and advanced students.
Kiln Building and Repair Workshop $90

Join Peter and Honree in a six week workshop
to rebuild the Fire Arts #1 gas kiln. Course covers planning,
use of materials, bricking, and arch construction.

Here's your chance to have some fun and get your hands dirty!
This course will be a structured introduction to basic handbuilt ceramics.
We will cover basic containers (2 styles), textures, and glazing.
Specific projects will be two slab containers with lids, side and top handles, and feet;
one or more containers using forms from the clay extruder; and one or more containers using coils.
Raku Firing (ongoing, weekly) $6–$25

Come find out what raku firing is all about.
Bring your own bisqueware or select an unglazed piece from Fire Arts.
We have a variety of pots and glazes.

One-on-One Intro to Lampworking Workshop (3 hours) $65
A great opportunity to learn torch basics!
This personalized workshop will begin with a discussion of various glass-working topics,
followed by a thorough demonstration of basic torch-working skills and techniques.
During the final hour—and under Kevin's direct supervision—the student will apply the knowledge
and develop the skills introduced in this class. Materials included.
